You first need to register as a Professional Member. To register, go to Skillsusaregister.org. You can find your school in the drop down menu and then add yourself as a professional member. If you do not find your school, simply follow the directions on the page to sign up as a new school. If you find yourself having difficulty, no problem! Simply contact customercare@skillsusa.org. They are always happy to help.
Once you are a member, go to your SkillsUSA Gateway page. Here is the link: Advisors | SkillsUSA which is skillsusa/advisors. This will take you step by step through each phase of having a chapter. Your first year, just focus on a few things: Signing up members, having a program of work (which is just a calendar of what you will do and when), make a small budget, and have monthly meetings with your students. Focus on registering for Chapter of Excellence and getting through the 1st level your 1st year. You can go for all 4 levels if you wish; however, it is not mandatory. SkillsUSA should be the fun part of your job.
